LEVEL 3 CLASS OPTIONS: AGES 11-13

Cost for each day for the entire academic year is: 

10a-1p: $1,795

10a-3p: $2,985

TUESDAY

  • 10-11:30, US History: Using America, The Story of US as the spine for this class, students will learn all about key events in the history of the United States from its foundational ideas to the challenges and triumphs that have shaped our nation. This project-based class will bring the past to life through hands-on activities, engaging research, and collaborative investigations. Instead of just memorizing dates, students will delve into the "why" and "how" of historical events, developing critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of our shared heritage.  A core focus will be understanding the bedrock documents of our nation: the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Weekly reading will be assigned to complete at home. 


  • 11:30-12:30, Weird, Wild, & Wonderful:  An adventure into the world of the wackiest, weirdest, and most wonderful creatures and science phenomenon's you’ve ever imagined! In this fun-filled, interactive class, explore the magical and mysterious creatures, plants, and phenomena that thrive in our world. Through hands-on activities like drawing, storytelling, and projects, students will discover bizarre animals with strange abilities (like the axolotl, which can grow back its limbs!) learn about fossils that shine like gold, and many more wild and wonderful things about our most amazing world!  


  • 12:30-1, Lunch/Social Break: Students may pack a lunch and stay to enjoy social time with their friends or picked up between 12:30-1 if staying for the half day program.


  • 1-3, Creative Fusion: During this highly interactive class, students will be completing Lego builds, working on plank and timed challenges,  trivia, critical thinking exercises, logic puzzles and games, deductive reasoning, strategic planning scenarios, and creative brainstorming sessions designed to enhance analytical and problem-solving abilities. We will also have plenty of collaborative projects  that students love that we usually don't have a ton of time to do in a traditional class. Topics Covered: critical and analytical thinking, collaboration, spatial awareness, social skills, problem solving

 

WEDNESDAY

 

  • 10-11:30, Timeline History: Mr. William takes students through key people, places, and events in history as they create their own timeline books and work on painting historical miniatures. Students from prior classes will learn all new information to add to their timeline books. 


  • 11:30-12:30, Book Club & Craft: during this book club style class, students will be  reading and discussing age appropriate books such as: Peter Pan, The Wind and the Willows, Christmas Carol, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. We will be covering at least six books maybe more depending on the reading ability of the group.  Weekly reading assignments will be provided for the child to read at home. Plenty of time will be spent in class discussing the book, text analysis, reviewing any unknown vocabulary words, craft projects, and skill set appropriate writing prompts, all presented in a creative and participatory way!


  • 12:30-1, Lunch/Play Break: Students may pack a lunch and stay to enjoy social time with their friends or picked up between 12:30-1 if staying for the half day program.


  • 1-3, Intro to Chemistry:  We will be using Elemental Science,  Chemistry for the Logic Stage which leads students through a study of the building blocks of chemistry, the principles of chemistry, and the applications of chemistry by digging deeper into what was studied during the elementary years. Students will complete a science journal of their work and experiment findings during this hands-on and exciting science class, even for the non-science loving student! 


ALL CLASSES ARE BASED ON ENROLLMENT AND CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME BASED ON OUR STUDENT NEEDS AND EDUCATOR AVAILABILITY!
